Politics..first of all i must say this that i hate politics very sorry.. Actually srilankan political had been a mess and could'nt know what is happening .The recent presidential election which happened on 26 january 2010 was the sixth presidential election of Sri lanka. Mahinda Rajapaksa who was the president for six year after the presidential election which happened in November 2005. General Sarath Fonseka was his main opponent in the election who was a former X army commander of the Sri lankan army.Fonseka had been endorsed by a number of main opposition of parties, including the United national Party and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna.
The President Rajapaksa proceeded to win re-election,recieving over 57% of all votes cast. fonseka recieved over 40%,carrying the Nothern and Eastern Provinces of Sri lanka. the remaining 20 candidates all garneredless than 0.5% of the popular.
